Facebook?

So, I've been wondering lately what the deal with facebook is. I don't really understand the purpose of it. Kevin's got a profile and he lets me look on it, so I do sometimes, but I just don't quite get it.

How many of you have a Facebook profile? Can you explain to me what the purpose of ti is and why it's so great? I'm trying to decide if I want one, and whether or not I'll do both this blog and facebook.

I'm with you honey. I don't have a profile either. So I'm no help. Just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

Okay so I signed up for a profile last year because a friend kept trying to send me pictures and they weren't going to my email so he told me to sign up for facebook and I could see the pictures on his profile. Once I signed up people started finding me and adding me as friends. All of a sudden I was able to conect with a whole bunch of high school friends I haven't seen in years. Once you've signed up you can type a name in facebook to see if that person has a page. I can't spend a lot of time with it, it could really be time consuming if you constantly read what everyone was up to and wrote messages on people's walls all the time. For me it is just great to see pictures of a lot of my old friends and see what they're up to. Plus several of our cousins are on facebook and it is nice to know that if I want to send them a message I can and I don't have to hunt down their email address. Facebook even helped me find some old Jr. High/Elementary friends I hadn't seen in a long time and we've been able to plan get togethers on facebook, it's awesome!

It's true that you could spend lots of time on Facebook. I choose not to. I get on every now and then and peek in on whoever is on my mind at the moment. One of the best things about it for me is that I have been able to connect with several people that I haven't been able to find over the last few years (one of them being a very dear friend that I lost touch with after moving to Hawaii). I'm also able to stay in contact with my sisters...none of us are very good about making phone calls to each other. So, this is a good, simple way for us to check in with each other.

The best part about it is that it really doesn't require much effort. Totally different from a blog, I think. I wouldn't say it is a must-have. But, it's fun if there are people you'd like to easily stay in touch with (without having to call...). =)

Hey, Barry's at a camp out tonight. You wanna come over and hang out?

Ditto to the previous comments. My cousins are on there, they don't do much else to stay in touch so its nice to have that. I also was able to meet up with ancient school friends! Be careful tho, I now have over 60 friends and getting new invites all the time, it can be overwhelming if you let it. Hope you are feeling good by now!
